Some people call the aquarium "the new zoo," and no doubt, are some of the best lures. The recently opened Atlanta Aquarium was created to attract visitors to the city. developed in part by the city of Atlanta, this titanic aquarium is based on travelers who are attracted to visit other destinations within of the leisure center.

The original idea for the opening of the aquarium in Atlanta, also known as the Georgia Aquarium, was developed by Bernie Marcus. In November 2001, Mr. Marcus announced plans to donate the funds necessary to build an aquarium in downtown Atlanta. From this concept, the Atlanta Aquarium was born.

The Aquarium Atlanta is half a million square meters of housing facility, more than 100,000 animals in 8 million gallons of freshwater and saltwater. Innovative project of the opening, the construction process took only 27 months. The Atlanta Aquarium is located on 9 acres of land adjacent to Centennial Olympic Park in downtown.

When visiting the Atlanta Aquarium, you will notice the unique appearance of the building exterior. The hotel has been designed to resemble a ship Late giant through a wave. When visitors go to the huge atrium inside the building, they are led into the facility by a "wall of fish" lead them inside. Once inside, customers have the option to choose between five main galleries. Each gallery is easily distinguished by a sign and an icon on the entry.

Cold Water Quest – shows the elements of ice cover
Georgia Explorer – identified by a light house
River Scout – shows a waterfall
Ocean Voyager – offers a peephole in the large habitat
Tropical Diver – with two video screens that represent the fish in a reef.

After visiting each exhibit, visitors return to the main atrium gallery's upcoming visit.

The Atlanta Aquarium visitors enjoy about 60 habitats through 12,000 square feet Windows display. The windows are made of a durable acrylic with a total weight of 328 tonnes. The largest habitat is a huge 263 feet long by 126 feet wide, with a depth of 33 feet. This giant has 6.2 million gallons of water. This display, designed especially as a habitat for whale sharks is also home tens of thousands of other animals that normally grow in the middle of the coral reefs and open ocean waters.

As we continue to explore the Atlanta Aquarium, you find a tunnel 100 meters long and one of the windows of the world's largest aquarium, giving a glimpse into whale shark habitat. The second highest habitats in the Atlanta Aquarium has 800,000 gallons of water, and was specifically developed to simulate the natural habitat of beluga whales.

Any person with an interest in nature and ocean life will marvel at the Atlanta Aquarium. Spend the day watching 100 thousand creatures representing 500 species from around the world living in more than 8 million gallons of freshwater and saltwater. The Atlanta Aquarium is a true gem of the ocean, right in the heart of Georgia.
